The Oggs by Alda-Rana The Oggs by Alda-Rana
A small part of the proliferous Ogg family, surrounding its almighty matriarch!

Jason's nameless wife, Jason, Pewsey, Nanny and Shawn.

Made in gouache. I thought I'd try it again (I hadn't practiced it since I started digital painting) I think I like it!

It's a wonderful depiction of Nanny and part of Jason's family...and of course Greebo is lurking under the chair! Yes, Nanny forgoes all the wives of her Sons unless she needs something done, cooked, cleaned, ....I could go on for 5 minutes but I won"t. Please make more Nanny art; she's my favourite character outside of Death and Granny.
Thank you again for a marvelous job!

Hahaha I like how the daughter-in-law is only half in the picture!

I really pity Nanny Ogg's daughters-in-law. They have a really hard lot in life...

Yeah, it's a shame for them but funny for us to read!

Jason is way cooler than I imagined him. Nonetheless, he's always one of my favourite non-heroic, non-protagonist character!

I love many of Terry's secondary characters, including the Ogg family - even though they're side characters, he gives them all real personalities and charm, even the really silly ones, you can tell he views them as rounded characters and not just plot devices. I love it :)

Indeed, it adds to the story - each and every character is actually a protagonist of the story, their own story. Pratchett's books are like miniature version of our world.

I think I pictured Shawn a bit older, and Pewsey a lot fatter. :p
But I love the setting, the style, and how you left the in-law half out of the picture - just like Nanny would have it! :-D

Shawn came out looking a lot younger than I planned, actually :/ I'd blame it on the technique but, well... And I hadn't thought about a fat Pewsey but it'd work great! Thank you :)

A great family portrait, and a great telling of the characters, although, not, I admit, how I pictured them. Marvelous job.

Thank you! Well, we all picture characters differently, and that's good, everyone would be making the same drawings otherwise ^^
